On May 4th 2016, the independent evaluation of the Freedom Online Coalition (FOC) that I have carried out through the University of Pennsylvania was launched. 30 stakeholders were interviewed alongside a consultation at the Internet Governance Forum in Brazil, November 2015. Comparative analysis on five similar organisations was also completed. The report includes recommendations for the FOC to consider including clarify the aims and objectives of the Coalition, create a mechanism to review the performance of members and establish a firmer financial footing for the Coalition.
